DESCRIPTION

PURPOSE OF POSITION:  This position is the management representative of Tri Rinse at each satellite seed bins manufacturing services facility.  Provides direct supervision of personnel to ensure the safe achievement of all quality, production and cost metrics for the facility.  In addition to their supervisory responsibilities the Site Leader must ensure the facility itself is managed and maintained in a manner that represents TRI Rinse’s level of excellence. The Site Leader will coordinate activities in the plant to ensure the timely completion of scheduled projects and assignments.  The position requires the troubleshooting of operational issues, identifying corrective and preventative actions, and oversight of daily labor requirements and work schedules.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Ensure facility, production lines & personnel are in compliance with company policies and procedures, including safety, health, environmental requirements
    • Complete incident reports and submit to executive management and EHS manager.  Participate and/or lead root cause analysis and corrective action process for all incidents in a timely fashion.
    • Report near misses and train employees regarding the importance of reporting near misses
    • Ensuring all aspects of business unit SOP’s are followed, maintained and revised as needed
    • Perform daily safety, 5S, and housekeeping audits of work area for issues resolution and associated 5S improvements.
    • Ensure spills are reported, handled safely, and that spill report is completed and given to EHS manager

 

  • Facility Management
    • Ensure facility and property are kept clean and organized to reflect TRI-Rinse’s corporate image
    • Communicate and coordinate any necessary equipment or facility maintenance issues with Business Unit Director and Maintenance & Reliability Manager.
    • Site owner for all work by subcontractors through corporate Maintenance department and ensuring subcontractors follow all safe work practices and abide by TRI-Rinse corporate policy.
    • Ensure facility is secure and security systems (Alarm system, smoke detectors, cameras) are working properly.
    • Direct maintenance lead’s activities / time availability as needed to provide backup support to site Maintenance Specialist.
    • Indirect (dotted line) supervision of site Maintenance Specialist.
    • Coordinate and host vendor meetings if / when required with feedback to management.

 

  • Coordinate, plan, prioritize, and execute daily site schedules, assignments, and activities to ensure production goals and requirements are met.
    • Conduct daily morning meeting with direct report lead operators prior to the start of shift and require shift turnover meetings for back shifts.
      • Discuss plan / priorities / scope for day and expectations for production
      • Make decisions to help lead operator overcome challenges and ensure line runs optimally
    • Audit Daily hour by hour boards
    • Ensure customer deadlines are completed on time
    • Achieve weekly production plan
    • Develop and maintain an after hours “on call” schedule to split this duty between Site Leader and Assistant Site Leader, for effective support of back shift / weekend shift issues resolution.

 

  • Participate in review meetings with Business Unit Leadership Team
    • Prepare for and participate in scheduled business unit leadership meetings.
    • Timely analysis of site scorecard of KPIs, including ID of corrective actions.

 

  • Practice continuous safety, quality, and process improvement.
    • Provide first draft of Corrective Action Response (CAR) documents in response to internal or external customer complaints.
    • Oversee implementation of safety, quality and process improvements as identified.
    • Participate in Lean Kaizen events when conducted and support the sustainment process
    • Conduct weekly audits of each value stream (wash, repair, warehouse) and daily GEMBA walks
    • Pareto hour by hour reports and analyze for continuous improvement opportunities

 

  • Compile and furnish production information and statistics to management.
    • Ensure completion of daily production paperwork & hours allocations in Master Data via Assistant Site Leader
    • Ensure accurate and proper usage of electronic data collection tools
    • Identify shift improvement opportunities and actions via performance metrics compiled by Assistant Site Leader for lead operators/crew.
    • Report non-productive downtime and causes (maintenance, training, 5S/Kaizen, etc.)
    • Track production performance versus monthly forecast (work with Finance)
    • Report exceptions to production plan and identify corrective or preventative actions.

 

  • Employee Relations
    • Establish and maintain strong lines of communication and accountability across work force, both individually and as a team.
    • Coordinate / collaborate with HR on the process of promoting, hiring / firing employees, interviewing, etc.
    • Manage staffing levels and daily labor schedules to achieve both production and productivity metrics
    • Manage prompt attention and resolution of individual & interpersonal issues
    • Conducts employee performance management (perf reviews) and coaches for continual improvement and development of employees
    • Leads by example and inspires and motivates employees through words and actions.
    • Documentation and progressive discipline of subordinates as needed in accordance with Tri Rinse policies, procedures and expectations.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

 

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk, hear, stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms.  Lift and carry up to 50 lbs. Work in dust, fumes, gases and chemicals.

 

ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS:

Moderate to Extreme Climate Conditions, Dust, Chemical and Gas Fumes, Confined Spaces.  Work under pressure/stress.  Working rapidly.

 

PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT: Safety glasses, steel-toe safety shoes, hardhat, long sleeved shirt and pants, full face respirator (when required), and hearing protection.
