JOB DESCRIPTION

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Ensure compliance with safety, health, and environmental requirements and objectives.
  • Ensure line operators are properly trained and knowledgeable regarding department SOPs, policies, and procedures.
  • Set up equipment to complete production run and complete line changeovers.
  • Communicate production status and issues to Formulation and Packaging Supervisor.
  • Monitor equipment and operators.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Ensure team achieves production requirements and that goals are met.
  • Conducting quality control tests and line audits on a routine basis.
  • Ensure mechanical integrity of equipment by making minor repairs and adjustments to line equipment.
  • Coordinate other repairs and adjustments with Formulation and Packaging line Maintenance Technician.
  • Assist team members with production needs in as needed or assigned.
  • Ensure safe start-up and shut down of equipment used.
  • Ensure work area is kept clean and organized.

REPORTING REQUIREMENTS

  • Accurately and timely completion of production reports including but not limited to:
    • product counts
    • waste generation
    • start-up checks
    • quality control results
    • down/lost production time
    • maintenance work orders
    • clean out tags
    • traffic and I-Tracker
DESCRIPTION REQUIREMENT
  • High school graduate or equivalent
  • Experience with operating production equipment in a manufacturing environment
  • Work Keys Assessment to determine gaps and or skill sets
  • Proven problem solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to be organized
  • Critical thinking skills
  • Self-discipline and motivation
  • Good written and oral communication skills
  • Mechanical aptitude to learn and subsequently train other employees for equipment operation and basic maintenance.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Sitting, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, twisting, climbing, crawling, balancing, bending (bending at the waist, lifting above the waist and lifting below the waist), kneeling, reaching, grasping (use of both hands), squatting, manipulative finger movements with both hands, use of wrists (flexing or rotating with both wrists), use of both feet, use of arm above shoulder (needs both arms), use of arm below shoulder (needs both arms), confined space, perform duties in all climates i.e. weather, extreme temperatures, heights, lift and carry up to 50 lbs., work in dust, fumes, gases and chemicals.
